Research Internship

Name: Julie
Company: University

I didn’t know what to do this summer, so I figured I might as well try to stay in my house (save some money) and see if I could work somewhere around campus. I would have loved to get an internship somewhere in NYC, but I never heard back from any of the places that I applied. So, I walked into my professor’s office to talk with him.

My professor’s summer research was on “how to create a brand for children.” Aka – how to have kid’s scream in the Wal-Mart aisles – mommy, I need this! Seemed like a cool project. I chatted him up for about an hour on two separate occasions, told him I wanted to work for him this summer, and he send me an email one week later about the job. That’s how I got my research internship.

I know my research internship is not as cool as working for Ogilvy in NYC, but pretty fun stuff.
